Personal Retreat

A personal retreat lets you rest and recharge. It’s a time to look within and care for yourself. By stepping away from your daily routine, you can pause, reflect, spend time in nature, move your body, create a personal ritual or plant medicine ceremony, practice yoga, meditate, eat healthy food, relax, and enjoy yourself. The nurturing environment helps refresh your soul.

Most personal retreats last three days and two nights. Each is tailored to your unique intentions and goals. You will have a safe and welcoming space to navigate challenges such as grief, divorce, midlife transitions, burnout, or feeling stuck. You can also come when you simply want to focus on yourself.

What is the design of the retreat?
Your retreat starts with a free consultation call to talk about your intentions and goals. After that, we’ll have two preparation sessions to plan your schedule. These sessions make sure everything fits your needs. We’ll go over travel, where you’ll stay, and any medical or accessibility needs. We also cover anything else to make your experience right. Bring comfortable clothes and personal items. Include a notebook for journaling, any needed medications, and anything that helps you relax or focus. Being prepared will help you feel confident and ready for your retreat.

What is a typical flow for a retreat?

You’ll arrive around 3-4 pm on the first day and leave around the same time on the third day. To make travel easier, we suggest flying into the nearest airport. You can use shuttle services, rent a car, or use rideshare apps. These options work well if you don’t want to drive yourself. I will help you arrange transportation in advance for a smooth trip.

Day One – Most people arrive on Friday afternoon and get settled into their hotel or Airbnb. We’ll meet around 4 pm for our first somatic session. Then, we’ll enjoy a healthy meal in town. In the evening, we might go and soak in the hot springs (Ojai only), go on a guided night walk, or try Authentic Movement. If you choose a plant medicine ceremony, we will prepare for that journey on this day.

Day Two –We will begin with tea in nature and mindfulness meditation. You will have breakfast on your own and a morning break. Mid-morning will be a somatic session with Wendy, followed by Lunch and afternoon siesta. In the afternoon, we’ll go hiking. Later, we’ll have dinner. In the evening, you might journal, do Authentic Movement, enjoy Neuroaffective Touch, or practice Yoga Nidra. If you do a plant medicine ceremony, it will happen on this day.

Day Three – We’ll begin with a morning hike. Afterward, you’ll have time for breakfast and to check out of your hotel or have tea. Then, there’s a somatic session with Wendy. Next is lunch, a personal nature ritual, and a closing to wrap up your retreat. If you choose a plant medicine ceremony, we’ll focus on integration during your somatic session.
